Portfolio Building Course (Ages 9 - 16)

Service Description

This course bridges the gap between having ideas and creating art to structuring it in a sketchbook at a curriculum level. It supports students aiming for scholarships for secondary school, GCSE and A-level sketchbook requirements, or preparation for college portfolios. The course will guide students in developing a sketchbook that showcases ideas, techniques, and their unique style and voice, while also expanding into larger pieces suitable for a portfolio. ------------------------- OVERVIEW: -Build Confidence in Sketchbook Development: Learn how to create a sketchbook that showcases your ability, development, and unique voice. -Master Fundamental Techniques: Understand essential art techniques and apply them to your work. -Experiment and Document: Experiment with different materials and techniques, research artists and show your progress. -Express and Analyse Your Work: Gain skills to express, discuss, and analyse your work, and incorporate these insights into your sketchbook. -Diverse Artistic Portfolio: Ensure your portfolio includes varied work that demonstrates proficiency in different materials, techniques, and art history. ​ Before the course begins, I like to gather some information from our students to get a sense of their levels and goals. I'll provide individual recommendations for creative work that they can continue between classes, especially if they have a deadline they're working towards. Of course, none of this is expected and completely depends on each student and their main goal. I want everyone to feel comfortable, supported and get the best out of this course.
